Yeah it's great, at least the plug-in version.

Version
OK let's try to get some info here on this, so which version do you have?
I think we are up to version 4 now which runs on TDM, MAS, RTAS and Mac VST and DirectX.
Bascially with the Antares Auto-Tune you can "fix" incorrectly pitched mono vocals. There are two modes you can work in:
1. Automatic
2. Graphical
Using automatic you can pitch shift the entire track and centre it around a given pitch, this is really simple and doesn't take much working out. You can then make a comparison to pitches from a scale (pretty much any scale). This is the less fiddly mode and essentially where most people start, if you know your tune should be in Dmaj, you set the automatic mode to centre the track around Dmaj, all the notes will then get pitched to the nearest note in that scale. You can add vibrato or remove it too.
The second method requires "good ears" and more time. In this mode you are presented with a graphical representation of the track so you can individually re-draw where you wish the pitches to be.
I guess it depends how bad your original track is because if there are just a couple odd notes that are off pitch then the automatic mode may work out for you. On the other hand if there is a track that is miles off, you are going to have to get in there are tweak away individually. What this graphical mode does need though is a good understanding of where the pitch is suppoed to be, i.e. you have to know where you want the notes to be, so you need to know your scales!
Here is the Antares Auto-Tune 4 manual _________________ Recording Studio Suntans
