Vocal level help (samples included)
So one of the things I struggle most with my home recording is getting the vocal mix just right. I'm working with limited resources and I'm sure most of you would probably balk at my home setup but I do what I can! I try to listen to my mixes on an array of systems since they tend to sound different, of course. My primary mixing is done on a pair of Bose headphones. Then I listen in my car which has a good JBL stereo system, and on my home stereo, on my iPhone, laptop, etc.
While I'm sure I could probably get pages and pages of awesome advice from you all that would send me down the rabbit hole and make me want to re-do the way I do everything, probably, my question for the day is simply this:
Help me mix my new track! First listen to Sample A: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3702274/Test%20A.mp3
Then Listen to Sample B:

Then tell me which one you like better. The difference is very tiny. Basically, two slightly different vocal levels. Many of you may not even tell a difference but I'd like to get a sampling from as many different systems/ears as possible. Or feel free to add a third option if you think the vocal level should be even more/less than either of the two clips. At this point I'm basically just raising/lowering all the instruments by fractions. Playing with a range of .5dB usually. I realize a lot of this is personal preference as well and I've used some similar songs as references for comparison but still can't quite seem to make up my mind.
