Are Waves Plug-Ins worth the extra money?

Not sure if this is the right forum or not but… I just downloaded a bunch of Waves plug-ins that have a demo period where you can try them out.

I kind of like them but when I checked the prices I was pretty blown away with how much money they want for each one.

I'm just looking for some experienced users opinions on how they compare to lower priced plug-ins that basically do the same thing.

For instance, I already use TRacks compressors, limiters & EQ's and have many other plug ins like iZotope, Blue Cat, RaySpace, Sonalksis, PSP etc..
I'm going for as high end audio as I can with what I have ie, Mac Core 8, Cubase 5, Luxman, Denon audio equipment, AKG k701 headphones, Paradigm speakers etc.

I've honestly tried to justify getting these waves plug-ins because the price suggests that they're offering something that the other aren't (hopefully audio quality)
So far though, I'm just not noticing any improvement. In some cases like the reverb, it's definitely a step backwards.

Any opinions?

Waves Plugins

Not sure why no one answered this but I love the Waves Plugins. They are one of a handful of vendors that make the absolute best plugins. You can find several free plugins online that will work fine but to be honest with you, the costly ones are worth it.

If you have Protools, their "stock" plugins are very impressive and they come with the software. The VST plugins that come with Cubase, Sonar and Logic are hot too.

You just have to try out different ones and take note of the ones that really help you get the sound you want.
