One man band....what to buy...mixer, amp, processors?

Hey guys..

One-man band newbie trying to put together the best quality mixer, amp and processors on a budget. I have a 10 slot Odyssey combo rack and stage speakers....

What else do I need? Please kindly list for me as I am totally new... I suppose I can ask the audio guys at Guitar Center...but would like to go there informed. Again on a budget...

I perform locally for birthday/graduation parties..usually in a crowd of less than 100.

Thank you in advance.

I would recommend that you consider the equipment that Behringer produces. They have great prices and offer mixers, signal processors, and sound modules.

As far a mics it's really difficult to beat a Shure SM57 or SM58 for a start. Each is close to $100 in price and have been the standard since the 60's mania.

Peavey is another source that is "good road equipment". QSC has been around for sometime now and produce some of nicest power amps available.

As far as any other specifics I'm hesitant because you did not state what you plan to do. Are you looking to put together a DJ system or are looking do a 'one man band' scenario?

Some good websites to browse and compare are:

www.musiciansfriend.com

www.samash.com

www,guitarcenter.com

www.zzsounds.com this site has bunches of goodies IF you select BROWSE ALL BRANDS on the homepage.

I hope this gives you some direction. PeAcE icon_wink.gif
