I have recently been accepted to the McNally Smith College of Music. I chose this school above the Institute of Production and Recording because McNally had performance and business majors to offer, meaning I would be around more musicians, as well as taking more classes on the performance side. It has also been around about 25 years compared to IPR's 5 or 6. They are both located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, which is closer to home for me from South Dakota.

My real dillema is that IPR offers Pro Tools Instruction, while McNally has the more well rounded programs. McNally teaches logic pro software. What do you guys think?

It kind of depends on what you want to do. All the audio recording software will do basically the same thing, but Pro Tools is the industry standard for music and movies, so if you plan on doing anything at the pro level, Pro Tools is a good program to learn.

You can use http://duc.digidesign.com/ as a good resorce, and Ask Videos https://askvideo.com/ has some excellent video instruction, so you can do it later.
