 Tascam US - 122L - Help

I just recently got the US- 122L- Audio Interface, i have installed all the required drivers and Cubase LE.
Everytime i record a track a crackly noise interfers with the track, i changed the settings on the Tascam control panel to highest latency but its not doing anything.

any help much appreciated
