I've been using a large-diaphragm condenser to record some Tenor Sax parts, placing the mic angled towards the bell at about 3-4 inches approx. away. it produces a bright tone, but i'm starting to wonder if a stereo pair could produce a nice image, or if anyone else has expirence in a different recording technique or microphone choice.

regards
