Experimenting with piano

Just wanted to see what comments people would have on this.
Im mucking round with a blumein angle inside the piano but using a hypercardoid and one figure of eight (414). Obviously this means what Im doing isnt strictly blumein but I thought Id give it a try as theres the curvuture of a grand piano so theres a large amount of wasted space at the treble end so it'll be the hypercardoid pointing at the bass end keys from the treble end and the figure of eight pointing at the top end keys from the bass end.
Also after reading this: http://innig.net/music/recordings/method/mics.html
im going to experiment with having the lid really really low.
Was also thinking of an ORTF (sE1A pair) behind the performer for a bit of perspective?
