Question about problem with external word clock

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the appropriate section, but I shall ask anyway.

I have recently been in a recording studio with my band and we laid down all the drum tracks in a studio we hired. now... the engineer made a little mistake while we were recording (he was new to this studio) and had the external word clock set to 48k, however the protools session was set to 44.1k

so now we've run into the problem that when he goes home to his editing/mixing station that has no external word clock, he tries to open the session but it's all too slow & out of pitch.

now i'm not the engineer (but i do take a small interest into how everything works, etc) but is there anything he can do to rectify the pitch & speed & sample rate so that he can do the mixing @ his home?

I'm open to all suggestions, we're trying to save money by not renting the studio more times.

Is there such thing as a 'cheap' external word clock? (take note, i live in australia, so don't have ready access to alot of things that are available in the US)

I very much appreciate all who read this. Thank you!

Why do an external anyway? Set it to internal, and inside pro-tools change the sample rate to 48K.

uh.... that really doesn't help mate.

the recording HAS BEEN DONE
and the external word clock HAS BEEN USED

We do not want to re-record everything we did.
To get back into that studio is expensive and we can't really afford it.

I am looking for a way around the problem in so much as that we can use the stuff we have already recorded.
