me new to this community. was planning to set up my studio. so wanted to know what is the difference between a passive and active monitor. And which is suggested for a studio.
I have also heard about monitors that give a neutral output which is best suited in a studio setting. Please let me what is a good choice. thanks.

all depends on what kinda money you have to spend and how much a little better means to you, if your just starting a basic studio then i would recommend some mid range passive monitors. best thing to do is go to a good store and ask to listen to them ask for some flat frequency output passive monitors and see what they show you.

I'm not going to recommend makes because at the end of the day we all have different ears and we all hear things in a different way you just got to find what suits you best.
