Ok, so I'm about to move to LA (better half got a job) and am seriously considering LARS. Spoken to them a couple of times and seem really well versed with good facilities, curriculum and intense workload (good).

I looked at MI, which seems on a par but their programs only last 6 months (don't want to do the two year degree).

I am trying to find out if anyone has been to LARS and can give me some first hand advice - I can't find anyone who has actually attended(?)

i went to a similar audio school (conservatory of recording arts and sciences in arizona), and had a couple of friends who were going to LARS at the same time. we would talk and 'compare notes' and it seemed to be about the same thing. neve, ssl, signal flow, pro tools, some post production, etc.

if you have the time/money/desire to do this, then i would say go. i think it certainly was a benefit to learn from professionals, as opposed to reading a book.
