drum effects routing

Hello everyone,

I've just recorded a drum kit with 12 mikes (10 close mikes and 2 room mikes) and I am trying, as client requested, to have in the mix the style of drums sound of "Take That - Reach out". My stuff for mixing it consists of:
- 2 UAD cards on the computer, each with EMT 140
- 1 PCM 91
- waves IR (plugs - full pack)

I have tried after eq. and comp. several versions of routing the effects but the result was not what the client expected ...

Can anyone give me, please, a suggestion for how I can route the effects in order to get closer ?

Thanks a lot !

things to think about when mixing:

What is it that the client expects?
What is it that you have?
When you listen to an example of what the client wants, and you listen to what you have, how different is it?
What does the desired sound have that your recorded sound doesn't?
What can you do to achieve the desired sound?
Listen for frequencies, resonance, ADSR, reverb, delay, other fx, etc.
If the desired snare has more snap, find a way to give yours more snap.
If the desired kick has more thump, find it some thump.
If the desired kit sounds roomy, turn up the room mics.
