Yamaha Promix 01 with Cubase Le! Please help me!

Hi all! I've having a Yamaha Promix 01 Digital mixer. I would like to use the mixer with Cubase LE with Automation function. I've tried to connect the Pro Mix MIDI I/O with my Tascam FW108 Soundcard and try to make it communicate with Cubase. Although Cubase recognize the Promix, but the fader of the mixer won't move when I move the fader in Cubase Mixer. Is there any of ya guys know how to program the mixer and Cubase so that they can communicate with each other or is there any MIDI template for the Yamaha Pro mix 01 at all? Please help me! Thank you very much!

cubase le

It's unlikely that Cubase LE is capable of communicating with your mixer in the way you are describing. For example, Presonus give Cubase LE away with a lot of their hardware - Presonus make a device called 'Faderport' which is an outboard controller but you can't use it with LE software - I reckon that if you want to use the mixer as you have described you will have to upgrade to some professional software - Go to the website of the mixer manufacturer and find out which software it works with as you have described.

You can automate in the software using the 'read/write' functions and faders/contols on the VST mixer etc - You can also manually draw in automation curves in the software if you want..............

I made the Yamaha worked with Cubase , just after I post this topic in here! It took me 2 days sleepness to figure out how the mixer communicates with tha DAW via MID port. I got the Yamaha, from now on, work with Cubase and I can mix with real time automation as well. It's quite easy though. If any of you want to know how, please reply in this topic , and I'll show ya how.
Anyway, thankx for the instruction. I appreciate that.

Hi,

I would be very interested in learning how you got Cubase to recognize
the ProMix 01. Please post it here or you can email me off list.

Thanks!!
