Okay okay, sounds like there are a few things to be addressed here...
First, what kind of microphone is it? Are you certain you arent getting any feeback from the monitors, sometimes if you record and your monitors are within earshot of your microphone you'll get crap. Make sure the mic you are using can handle the SPLs and Dbs that your amp is projecting and that it is catered to your objective. Next make sure that you arent overdriving any of your inputs on the board or in cubase and once again, the mic itself. If your source levels are too high, they will sound like filth. Turn down your gain and drop the faders a bit and listen again. If the sound persists, make sure your playback settings are correct in Cubase and that your monitors are in phase. But please describe your setup a lil better and we might be able to lend a hand.
