Tracking at half-time and/or 2xs

Anyone know about tracking at half-time, then speeding up? Or tracking at 2Xs speed, then slowing down?

For guitar's, aren't there certain tunings to perform the above???

What are you trying to achieve here?

To be able to play the section slower?
