Multitracking in Cubase LE
Hi there,
I recently bought a Firepod. It came with Cubase LE. I've got it all up and running fine except that I can only write enable two tracks at any one time. Can anyone tell me if this is the limitations of Cubase LE or is there something I am not doing?
Regards,
Nelly

Did you get a manual for Cubase LE? Read it! Lots of good stuff in there!
You need to go to the VST Connections setup, and add input busses for each individual input.
By default, Cubase connects the first 2 input tracks of any unit only, and then you set parms after that.

Thanks,
I didn't get a manual with Cubase LE but I think there is one in the help menu. I've found the answer on Presonus' website in the FAQs page. So here it is for anyone else who needs to know.
Q: How do I record from all of the Firepod's input channels within Cubase LE?
A: You must activate your additional input channels to use them. Click the Devices menu. Click VST Inputs. Drag the window down or use the scroll bar to reveal all available inputs. You will click on the graphic "power button" to activate your additional input channels. They are activated in pairs. Once activated, you can now assign the input channels to your audio tracks to record from them. Setting up other recording software for multi tracking is specific to the software.
PS Distortion issue.
I tried out the Firepod as soon as I had it all set up and I got a great signal which plated back fine. The second time around (doing nothing any differently) the playback is really heavily distorted. The in-levels are not set to high so I am not sure what this could be. I looked on Steinberg's forums and a few people have this kind of problem with no practical advice from Steinberg... Any clues?
Regards, Nelly

On the control panel for the Firepod, there should be either a set of buttons or slider that controls the input DB. Most of these things are set to +10, or -4, so you just need to set that to match the signal of your board, instrument, etc.
