 Midi/laptop help!

I've got an M-Audio Keystation 88es and I've purchased a laptop so I can use this keyboard at gigs etc. The laptop is a Pentium M 700, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD. I can plug the keyboard directly into the midi port, but I get a huge delay. I know there is usb to midi hubs out there. Does anyone know of a few good ones? in between $100-$200
