I am a new user looking for a program that will record midi from my keyboard. I have a YAMAHA PSR-175 nd an M-Audio Uno MIDI-USB cable. I know the connection is working, but I can't find a program that will accept it as music and not just as an extra controller.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Midi Means "Musical Instrument Digital Interface." Your keyboard is a midi controller, I.E. it controls MIDI data coming into your computer. What is happening is what a MIDI controller does, and will never be accepted as "music".


The way to convert it to Music, is find a program that takes MIDI data in, and uses samples of sounds to take the MIDI data and represent with the samples

Reason, Edirol, Kontakt Players (used with libraries such as Garritan Orchestra, EastWest, etc ) are just a few.

type that into Google or Yahoo or whatever and you should be able to find all the major software out there, and even some free/trial stuff to play around with.
