Guitar: Multi-Amp

This may be instrument miking, but I am trying to configure what it is that I am miking.

I use a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rec. as a main rig, but I've been wanting to allow my old-school crate and other amplifiers to warm up and give a little bit of individuality to my overall guitar sound. (Slave out and FX loop are the only outputs on rear panell of dualrec)

is this where a DI box would come in handy, or am I thinking of another piece of equipment.

split signal

a di box that can split the signal would work. just make sure to use the low-impedence inputs on your guitar amps coming from the box.

I'd use the slave out on your Dual Rec, but that might just be me. The slave out isn't speaker level is it? Cause that'd definitely blowup your other amps.
