hey all i'm new and looking to get a headstart!!
hey i'm 14, i live in australia...i'm in a band and i have made it my goal to become an audio engineer, because I can't imagine myself doing anything but recording, and creating music!! I really only have very basic knowledge of recording, as I can't start audio engineering as a subject until yr 11...so i'm hoping to gain as much knowledge as I can so i'll know what i'm doing!!my uncle's a guitarist and he's set up his own (small) recording area, so I've learnt a bit from him...but i'm really looking for help here so, any online tutorials or tips are greatly appreciated!!
cheers,
spider

start reading my friend. get books about the knowledge you need to have to understand the movement of sound around you, and how it interacts in the whole of its frequency spectrum.

by reading of course, we dont mean "read it like a story-telling novel", but rather browse thru it...
see it this way, you're not gonna wipe your ass all the time because you know its a stinky shit-hole (it would get irritated and probably spit blood at ya), you're only gonna wipe it when you know its dirty, right... (what a bad f***ing analogy)
well same thing for such books, when you know theres something you dont understand, you pick up the book and read about it (and that particular book (MRT) contains a lot about a lot). then, you ponder it, analyse it, test it (if possible), try it, prove it, read about it again, and agree with it... lol
good reading

Possibly the best worst analogy I've ever heard. _________________ Recording Studio Suntans
