Hi.
I have a quite old keyboard (Technics KN100) attached to my sound card (Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS). The problem is that I can't use the sustain pedal or pitch bend levers via sound card. The work just fine while playing only the keyboard but they have no effect anymore if I play my keyboard thru my computer (soundcard).

Is my keyboard simply too old to be working perfectly on the newest sound card or is this something that can be fixed without buying a new keyboard? (The strangest thing is that I think I remember myself using sustain also via SB long ago when I bought it but I'm really not sure of it.)

I could not track down the manual for it, this would inform you if it does transmit, down the MIDI cable, sustain and pitch bend controller info. I'm pretty sure it would.

Then you'd have to research the same for the sound card, to see if it is cabable of operating on those two controller items.

I know that sound card comes in a laptop version also, which does have limited MIDI capability. Check yours out.

I agree with AC.. the soundcard is probably the issue, as pitchbend and sustain are just controllers and should be transmitted via the cable.

I would recommend spending 20 bucks and getting a stand-alone usb midi interface (like the midisport1x1 for example).
