New studio pc?

ok i'm new here so go easy guys icon_razz.gif i basically want to build a new pc for use as my home recording studio.
The equipment that i have is as follows -
fostex mr 8 hd

akg & mxl condenser mics
audio technica dynamic mics

i want to use the mr8hd to record drums, bass, guitars and vox and then mix everything down on the pc with adobe audition. Can anyone recommend a good setup... i was thing a 2.8 ghz pentium 4, 1 gb of RAM, 200 gb hard disk... but what about sound card... and speakers? can i connect my bx5a's to the pc?

Interface

I'd go for an external sound interface (sound card). The PC seems man enough to get you going.

Those speakers are active, I think, so you can connect them to an audio output on the interface (sound card).

creative labs audigy packages

sound card you can take a look at creative labs audigy packages...see what you can get from there...maybe go with the pro package..or platinum. either one of those will work out..unless you want to get an audio interface....maybe something like the M-audio audiophile USB...or MobilePre Usb...ive used both...the audiophile on a MAC works great....but havent tried on the PC...the MOBILEPRE USB on the PC = not soo good. there are plenty of ways to work around yur equipment. just gotta do a little research...yur bx5a's are pretty cool. should be fine..if u want to get a power amp..thatd be pretty cool for the monitors.
