Sennheiser e606
Hey,
Just saw this mic and it looks pretty good and quite good value for money. I record a lot a heavier bands and have heard this is good for getting beefy guitar sounds...anyone got/used one at all? I currently just use a trusty sm57, but was looking to have both on at once to get some beef on the go!
Cheers...

I've not used that model before, though I really do like Sennheiser microphones, they sure sound good and built very well. I had a bunch of 509s for a while which were great on guitars for live work, especially with the flat design to sit against the grill.
That e606 is cheap, though I couldn't find a spec sheet on them.... _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

Yeah the e606 is great for the dollar and mixes well with the sm57! I use that quite often. Sometimes I'll even add a B.L.U.E. Ball mic to the room (it really pics up the room nuances incredibly) and the guitars really come alive!!!! You can use this same technique on accoustic and its just as suprizing!!!!!!!!!
