miniature mic, help!

hi,
im a sax player (alto & soprano) and im looking for a mic.
iv'e tried regular micing for sax (the volume isn't even, alot of feedback*, picking up the other band members), piezzo pickups (bad sound too much treble and mid).
the only solution i can think of is mini condensers that goes into a drilled hole in the mouthpiece, most of them went straight to distortion one didn't pickup to weak signal - i had my preamp to max vol. and the guitar amp on 9! (i need to find the zone between too much sensitivity (distortion) and not enough).
i know barcus berry used to make pickups like these in the 80's but they're impossible to find.
if you know something about the subject or someone who could help i'd be grateful.
i've been looking for a solution for many months.
im planning to run the signal through a lot of processing (effects)
thanks a lot, hoping to hear from you.
