Sound Dynamics and Texture, how do we get that?

Hi
I´m about to putting together a studio, and I wanted to know something that has been thrilling me for a lot, and that´s about how bands such as Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and in the electronic field can get that big sonic sound that you hear on their songs, for example a very well known song from Linkin Park, Crawling has a huge sonic landscape in terms of sound dynamics, well I know that in the studio the equalizers do some job related to it I think but i´m not sure.
Thanks for support
