Midi to USB problems with Sonar and Cubase

Hey guys Im pretty new to midi but not to computer recording.

I need some help please. Im using a yamaha ypt 300 midi keyboard
and a m-audio uno midi to usb convertor and sending it to sonar 6

In sonar I see the device and I can get it to record but the velocity and notes that Im playing on keyboard are not being recorded right and I get this low end drone like 3 octives down that wont stop after I hit one note it just stay constant.

And this is the second m-audio interface Ive got I took back the first thinking it was defective. But others are being sucessful with it.

I choose midi Omni on the input for the midi track I am using a usb port on the back of my tower.

Also the input indicator light stays on telling me its that low drone I was talking about that is constantly being transmitted.

I dont know what else to do.

Im not sure what the heck is going on here. Any help would be great

windows xp serv pack 2, p4 3.0ghz, 1gig ram, 350gigs harddrive

Thanks
Fred Moomaw
