 Convert digital audio master from Sony umatic tape to WMV?

I have a umatic audio master from the late 80's. it was recorded on a Sony BVU-950. I'd like to transfer it to a wmv file so I can load it into my MAC for editing and remastering.

What do I need? Do I need the the Sony BVU-950 deck? What software, interface and plug do I need for the MAC? Anyone ever done this? I know this is done in the video world with dvds all the time.
