Recording Reggae Bass
We bought some equipment and are recording at home. We're currently having some trouble recording bass guitar how we want. We are looking to get a smooth reggae sound...anyone have any tips on how to get that real thick sound??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
bless up

What are you using right now? mic, micpre, bass, bass amp... everything comes into play.
you may not need to mic the bass; just go through a DI - usually reggae has a fairly clean bass sound. you could add effects afterward.

AC, can we please do something about FanOff? So far all he has done is given bullshit advice, and spam his website. The site has some truth, but will lead many astray.
