First off, What's your price range? - but Shure microphones are great and road worthy

Shure Microphones are definitely road worthy, but I would not put them in the great category.
What is your price range? What style of vox? What style of music? What range is your male vocalist? (Tenor, bass etc) all these questions and more matter!
Is your male is Micheal Jackson? Or is he George Jones? Different ranges matter, we need obviously more information than what you provided to answer your question.

There's no one single "perfect" recommendable microphone for one single task. There are just too maNY OF THOSE THINGS , that's why I hate reviewing mics (and headphones for that matter).
If I had to pick a set though, the Artist Elite AE5400 though has been used by A lot of well known recording artists in live gigs. Dwele used them in one of his mall venue concerts a while ago and he's a star...soooo.you know.
On the other hand the Neumann KMS 105 BK has gained some serious ground too, I've heard them and they are some seriously high spec mics.
