I have no idea why my sound card (a Terratec Phase 88 Rack PCI) isn't making sound. I have it properly installed. The out's on the card going to the main ins on the board. In Windows XP control panel, I have the playback selected to the corresponding in/outs. The computer reads that everything is working properly, and the Phase 88 control panel even shows levels...but still no sound. I've tried moving the card to different PCI slots, and the computer was wiped a few days ago. I am using the same drivers that have worked in the past.

This did happen once before. After I took apart and moved my computer to a different location, it wouldn't work. I simply restarted it and it worked. This does not seem to be the case here, as I have tried it several times. Any help guys?! This is really freakin important at the moment.

When you wiped your computer, did you remove all your hardware before installing Windows-- especially the Phase 88. If not, try this: Uninstall the drivers for the 88, and shut down the PC. Take out the PCI card for the 88, and restart Windows. Turn the computer off once again, reinstall the 88, restart, and let Windows grab the drivers from the CD-ROM.

If this doesn't work, or isn't the case, let me know. I've done some troubleshooting with my Phase 88 and can probably help.

Yeah, that didn't seem to do the trick. Everything shows that it's working fine. Anything else I could try? I don't have any other sound cards, so that isn't complicating things I don't think.

That sounds really familiar, I think I've gone through something similar, but I haven't had any problems with it in a long time. I can't remember what exactly it was.

Can I assume it's not the fault of your mixer or any other gear? Everything else is connected properly? I've had duh-moments when simply I've accidentally plugged things into the input instead of the output.

Otherwise I think I'm at a loss.
