midi sampleing

i was wondering if there was a way i could make my midi keyboard play samples of my choosing

btw this is a great forum

EDIT: i found out how to thanks anywhey, i found it in the tutorials in ablton live

the answer is yes

the answer is yes only I don't quite know how - It probably depends on both the software and the MIDI keyboard...

eg if you are using Cubase you can select a VST instrument into which you can load a sample bank - you assign this instrument to be the input on a MIDI channel - you can then select your MIDI keyboard to be the output...
Draw in some notes in the key editor - this will playback through your MIDI keyboard...

However, I'm guessing that you want to assign samples to each key of your keyboard - which you can do - you would have to create some sort of sample bank/program which you can then load into your keyboard
