Bounce selection? What is it?

I am using Cubase LE and I am trying to figure out what the option "Bounce Selection" does.

"Bounce" means mixdown. It will mix down all the selected material into one audio file (options of stereo/mono, samplerate, bitdepth, file type, etc)

Could I use bounce selection to mix down all of the audio into one stereo mix for mastering or is there a better way to prepare tracks for mastering?

I'm not really familiar with cubase. Are there other options for bouncing? In the program I use (Cakewalk HS), the only way to bounce the whole project is to select all of the audio, and choose 'export audio' from the menu. It then gives me a dialog box for choosing file type, bit depth, sample rate, whether or not to include fx, automation, etc. Also within the project, I can bounce selected tracks down into a single track.

I would assume that if there's a 'bouce selection,' that there would be another 'bounce..' or 'export' or something like that right around that vicinity on the menu.

Hopefully someone in here that uses cubase can tell you for sure.

well i dont really know about LE, but in SX, its as simple as going to the File menu, in the Export section, i select Audio Mixdown, and from there, many options allow you to do many things. i dont suppose that LE is that much different. can you indicate where you find that "bounce" option in the program, maybe like that someone can enlighten you better.
