Any FirePod (Presonus/Cubase LE) Users? I NEED HELP!

I just picked up a brand new Presonus FirePod (Not fireBOX) from a local dealer and i'm having huge problems with it. I Plug my bass guitar in to Mic-Instrument plug-in 1 or 2 or 3 etc... I play my bass as i'm turning the volume up until it starts to clip. which it does, meaning = Firepod is getting a signal from the bass. So that's all good but when i go into Cubase LE software on my PC and go through step-by-step setting up to record, i get all the way through the instructions to the point where it asks to hit record....but i still don't have a signal at my software....very frustrating and i'm stuck here.

If anyone could help, even just to tell me how you have your FirePod set up to your PC and what one of the ports you use for a direct plug-in (1/4" Plug-in). It would be apreciated!!!
Thanks for your time

A couple quick questions:

1. Have you created an input bus in Cubase, where you can see the signal is there? If not, you need to set up the input.

If 1 is there,

2. Have you created an audio track that takes the buss mentioned in #1 as its input source?

If BOTH are correct: go to #3

3. If you are getting a signal, but can not hear anything, that is Cubase's default. Because of latency, you will not be able to hear as you are recording, unless you turn on monitoring. To do this you need to click on the little speaker icon (if you have a comp that allows less than 5 MS latency for your bit depth of recording). The other alternative is to route one of your firepod OUTS to the IN channel. That way you can hear what you are playing regardless if you are recording or not.

Okey so i have an input signal now that i can monitor and i can hear what i'm playing while i'm recording (with headphones plugged to the headphone jack on the front of the FirePod). But i have no audio out of the speakers when i try to play what i recorded and also there is no signal on playback either....in other words when i try to play back, nothing happens except for the tracking bar that scrolls across the screen. Any ideas? icon_sad.gif

Good! That is a great start!

NOW, 2 more questions:

1. Do you see anything besides a flat line on the recorded track?

IF NOT 1,

2. Do you 'arm' the track for recording (meaning you hit the record button on the track itself before you hit record on the transport panel)

yes, i'm sorry, i should have told you that i do see waves of the signal being recorded while and after recording. I also have the monitor button illuminated as well so i don't know why i can't hear or see any activity when i playback...

Turn off the monitor button to hear playback. The monitor button is to hear the input only.
