Hi Guys,

I have been doing alot of searching around, and I really want to place my order today for recording equipment. I have narrowed it down to several choices..Pretty much set on the mic I want to get. But need advice on which pre and audio interface to go with, to give me that hot hip hop sound.

The mic I am set on getting is Shure SM7B. I am recording in a bedroom/office environment.

Now this is the part I am having a hard time with...My pre choices are:
Summit 2BA-221
ART Digital MPA
RNP
UA Solo 610

Based on the extensive posts on this topic, these seem to be the most popular candidates for this mic. Please help me pick the one that you think will work best with SM7B...I am leaning towards the Solo 610...but I like the price of the ART alot more (I dont have the option to test these devices)

As for the soundcard, do I need anything better than Mackie Onyx Satellite? Is firebox a better choice? I noticed that when using the Onyx, I cannot even control the bass/treble on the card...Is there another card you would recommend for this setup?

Please help...I need to buy this stuff today before I totally go nutts.

I am starting to worry that my onyx satellite audio interface might not be good enough for sm7b and the pre I choose. Should I be looking at other options?

This is only for recording vocals.
