I need some advice... I'm not an engineer so bear with me!

I have noisy neighbors that I am trying to take to court. I bought a small Olympus recording device, but it's not picking up the banging and bass sounds coming from the apartment above.

Is there a mic available that will pick up this type of sound and not the background noise I'm getting now?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Best to choose microphone with unidirectional pick up sound.
