New guy here!

Hello!

First off, the "Other shit" is closed so I really didn't know where to put this stuff, sorry.

I'm Vedran, from Croatia, I recently turned 15 (oh, huh? icon_biggrin.gif).

I've been playing guitar for almost 4 years now, been doing some drumming for something more than 2 years and rarely playing keyboards for a few years, just for fun. I mainly play guitar, and drums in a few bands.

I mostly listen to blues, rock and a little heavy metal. I'm into Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and rock like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Guns n' Roses etc., and some Dream Theater, Skid Row and Metallica. Sometimes I listen to funky stuff like Al Green or soul like James Brown, but I don't know much of them, so...

When I was like, 9 or 10, I really got into audio stuff, 'cause we had this Internet radio at school and that gave me the chance to learn about that stuff at a very young age, so I'm very happy about that. Since I started playing guitar, the "love" to recording, mixing etc., just got bigger and bigger so I was always helping out with PA's and stuff at local gigs and stuff like that.

So basically, all I want to have is, not a big house, expensive cars or anything like that, just a few good instruments and a space with a few toys to record and have fun with my band.

That's what I'm here for. To learn about building studios, recording and mastering techniques etc. I'm glad to be here and I hope I'll catch some good stuff . icon_smile.gif

I'll start off with questions in a while, so prepare yourselves. icon_biggrin.gif

BTW If this is an unapropriate place for the topic, please don't get upset, the other board was locked. Just notify me if you replace the topic.

Welcome!

First off, your forum etiquette is very refreshing! At 15 years old you are more fluent and respectful then some of the idiots that come here. I get tired of the "hi biotch im n0ob check out sumten im don" crap, so this is really a nice surprise.

Second, your taste in music is also excellent! You take the time to listen to and learn different styles, not just rap or hip-hop.

I also hope you enjoy, and learn, and even help teach.

Thank you very much!

There is some news since my last post - I now have a small Behringer Xenyx mixer and a Shure SM57 microphone. Pretty much, all I need now is a space with good acoustics and sound isolation, studio monitors and maybe a few rack units - a DBX compressor and maybe a reverb / delay or something like that.

I'll keep you informed. icon_rolleyes.gif

Cheers
