How many channels do you need to record at once? You have 10 inputs on the 828 apart from the 8 ADAT ins...........

You could try inserting mono leads into the channel inserts for 9-16 of you 01v and then insert the other end of the lead into the line ins on your MOTU....

The channnel inserts are send/return points so sometimes inserting a mono lead interupts the signal to the master (your headphones/speakers when monitoring form your desk)... some models overcome this... you simply insert the mono plug half way (to the first click)... check your manual for the specifics...........

This theoretically would give you sixteen simultaneous live recording channels on your computer...

ps - channel inserts are often pre-fader, that is are only affected by the gain control in terms of output...

Let us know if this works
