record Classical guitar

righto here's one. recorded using a single km184. If i remember, it was done over the shoulder. got any tips? (regarding mic placement, post-processing)

i use an m-audio firewire solo, and the only post-processing I did was with hiss removal, panning, gain.

I also need a little help increasing the volume on all of my mixes. I'd like to stay away from compression / normalizing though. any tips for this?

No experience with classical guitar, but if your audio is at peak level and you still want it louder, a little compression is probably about all you can do. If done right, you won't even notice it. Otherwise maybe try some track automation (riding the track), turning it up on the softer spots and bringing it down on the louder parts.

BTW, your link didn't work to the mp3
