compression ?

hey i had a guy tell me that i can use a waves plugin as a compressor while i'm recording instead a outboard is that true thats all i wanna know


and to whoever looking for good, clean ,warm sound get waves plugins you can find some on ebay thats cheap then the cost they charge in the stores but i gotta for $15 on ebay thats deal i thought i just had to say to fix some you guys problems

You can select a compressor as one of the send effects of the track you are recording. You can only monitor this effect post - software so there will be latency and once you record the track compressed you can't undo it.

Maybe it's best to apply the compression once the track has been recorded.
