Microphone advice for new studio

This may be a bit of a broad question, but here goes nothing:

I may have to aid in setting up a recording studio at work and would like a few opinions, specifically with microphones. I was thinking of having a sound board and mic placed in a smaller room, in which the studio could be viewed through glass. I am considering three mics in the studio, all placed on a round table for conversation. We may have a decent budget, so I am looking for some good quality mics, but without spending anything absolutely rediculous. Any recomendations? Any new products on the scene? I'm also looking some good pop screens as well. Right now we have one Oktava MK-219.
