First of all, they're NS-10.....

Second, I've seen them sell for $1k a pair, while they're actual value is MAYBE $100/pr....

Third - they're awful speakers and there's no benefit to using them unless you really want to hurt your ears!

Yeah - that's exactly the bull$hit nonsense people keep spreading about them. It's garbage.

Personal experience... I've used them.... and I know many engineers who feel exactly the same way as I do.

The sound quality of the NS10 is abyssmal.... it has a very honky midrange, extremely harsh and brittle top-end, and virtually no low-end definition save for the occasional muddy boominess.

There are far many better choices of nearfield monitor available today, buying NS10 simply makes no sense.

yamaha ns10's are pretty indeed with their white cones and pretty shiny black boxes, and when u see them sitting atop those consoles, of course you'd like them for yourself too.

but like BBS said, they sound AWFUL. being a previous owner of them, i heard that too. one of the only reason you'd buy them for is to hear and compare how your music would sound on rather poor sound system. another reason for buying them is because you want to test them yourself.

a good reason for keeping them?? well, either you're desperate to "LOOK" like a pro or you think they "make" your mix sound good...

oh, and btw, injustic3, BBS said " I know many engineers" not "so does others consumers"

at least show some respect to those who REALLY are trying to help YOU
