They're decent for scratchpad writing/demos, but can hardly be considered "serious" recording tools. Cassettes aren't exactly considered "hi-fi"....

I have like a mini studio st up. The taskam is run through into my 2 track with is in my laptop. Then i use cool edit. But i really want to get cake walk . Do you know were i can find it cheap???

tascam...

I don't know about cakewalk, but i know i've had trouble with my tascam 4-track, as in the power section whatsit doesnt work. it no longer turns on. i know nothing about electronics but i havent bothered to get it fixed because it'd probably end up costing more than it was worth originally. i recommend getting a fostex mr-8 digital to start with.
