I'm building a jamming studio (rehearsal studio ?)...
I'm looking for means of Soundproofing, but not in an expensive way. Since I am on a tight budget.
I've been suggested to do the following :-
1. A brick wall (partitioning),1 layer of Plywood,1 layer of foam/spounge and another layer of Plywood followed by a final layer of egg cartions.
2. A brick wall (partitioning),cover the bottom half of the studio with foam/spounge whilst the top part is covered by egg cartons.
I'm seeking advice and suggestions from the much moe experienced forumers as I am still a newbie to the studio set-ups.
And then, there's 2 more things I'm curious of...
1. Is there such a thing as a Gypsion Board? I heard that it's used for soundproofing.
2. What is that foam/spounge with curvy textures called?
Thank you for reading |
You are getting into a very large subject here so I think the best way of helping you would be to point you to here first: http://www.soundproofing101.com/index.htm
Also you need to understand what you are aiming for, keeping sound out, or improving the room sound itself, they are different.
Hope that helps. _________________ Recording Studio Suntans
