Aardvark Q10 + Apogee BIG BEN - Good Combo?

I'm looking to upgrade my front current front end and trying to decide if "BIG BEN would fit my needs.....

1. Aardvark Direct pro Q10
2. Mackie SR24-4
3. Alesis M1 Actives
4. Aphex 107 Preamp
5. Dbx 166a Compressor
6. Roland JV90
7. Edirol Um-880
8. Cubase SX
9. Reason
10. ASUS P4S-800
11. P4 3.2 GHZ
12. 1 GIG RAM
13. Rode NT2000

Ok, the more I read around the more strongly I feel about getting a better External A/D D/A converter. Now tell me if this makes sense or not.. ( Cause I'm kinda new to the idea of "WordClock") 1. Now If I purchased a BIG BEN unit from Apogee, I'm thinking that I would take the Wordclock In from my Aardvark Q10 and go Out to Big Ben, Then take the Wordclock Out from the BIG BEn back to the Word Clock IN on the Q10. Now Would that be the only process that would sync the two units together?

2. Now tell me If i would need to do this.....
The BIG BEN has 2 AES EBU ins & Outs, Say if I take a Stereo Out from the Q10 (L/R) and go into the two AES EBU ins on the BIG BEN (That would have to be from 1/4inch on the Q10 to XLR on the BIG BEN) then take the 2 outs from the BIG Ben back in to 2 channels on the Q10 to record a MIXDOWn file,

Would this process be necessary having already clocked the Q10 to the BIG Ben???? ( I mean, would the Sound of the Q10 Improve Overall?) (or am i missing something with the AES/EBU thing??)
And Would I be able to get A High Quality digital cable that consists of this particular configuration? - - 1/4 to XLR???

Cause I checked on Apogee's web site and they seem to only have Straight cables.. You know, like XLR to XLR or Rca to Rca, that sort of thing....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
