Using a Limiter
Let's open this thread for some discussion on how you use a limiter.
I sometimes enjoy using one to prevent a vocalist from clipping the channel during the recording phase.
How about you? _________________ Recording Studio Suntans

Just a limiter? Some compression before reaching the limiting zone may help.

use a limiter
I some times use it to avoid cliping in vocals, and some times, i use it to get another sound of the track, ovbiously, i print it in another track, i like the LA4 in top snare or snare bus (top snare and bottom snare) or the legendary 1176 in kicks.
Depending on what type of music, in this instruments i can smack them and get a balance of natural sound and processed sound.
I like the LA4 for acustic guitars (form Direct boxes) and for Distorted Guitars, when they have too much power chords and things like that.

yeah, this thread is more or less a spin-off of the compression thread.
