Yeah that makes sense. I see how the pop filter can be used that way, that's a good idea.

As I read over my previous post I felt like I came off as a little bit of a "know-it-all" which I'm not at all! So thanks for sharing your info. icon_smile.gif

I hope I'm starting to get the bottom of this vocal technique thing -- to learn how to do it just right. lol... cause it seems to plague amateur recordings, including my own. icon_eek.gif

It's Ok, you were just expressing what you have been working with, and what had worked for you.

I dont think that anyone really knows all, as you can always seem to learn more. It can be a problem sometimes that you find something that works well so you use the technique in every situation. This can mean the same sound when perhaps a different sound may be more interesting. Also it does kinda stop you from experimenting. Have a listen to some different commercial tracks, listen to the vocal sound and level in the mix. Listen to the sibilance and the amount of FX used such as reverb. You will hear how different the vocals can be. It would be pretty boring if they all sounded the same icon_wink.gif
