been a long time since i posted here... hope you could help me out..

we're planning to assemble a PC for multimedia purposes, and i need
a PCI sound card that has:

input:
2 or 1 mic XLR input (with preamp)
stereo RCA (or TRS)
midi in

output:
stereo out RCA (or what ever)
midi out

i'm considering the YAMAHA SW1000XG & M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496,
but they dont have Mic in... are there any other options with those
kinds of specs that has a more or less $100 tag?

If you are looking at mAudio, they do not have preamps directly with their sound cards (they do not belong there anyway). They do however have cheap mike preamps, (the Audiobuddy for one, 2 mike pres). Other options are getting a dedicated preamp, or a cheap Yamaha board with preamps on it.
