URGENT!! Condenser Microphones

How far away can you be from a normal condenser microphone so it still picks up your voice?

Thanks in advance

normal condenser mic?

Um, the pickup paatern really depends on the microphone. Find the spec sheet in the manual for your mic maybe. But you should be able to "pick up" someone's voice from across a room. I wouldn't recommend that for most applications, but....

why do you ask?h

OR do you mean how far back should the singer stand from the microphone? In that case it depends on the microphone, but usually 8-12 inches.

As far as maximum back..

As long as a sound reaches the microphone, a good condensor will pick it up as long as the sound at the microphone is above its bottom DB rating.
