GM/XG/XF format able to burn on cd?

Hello
the following questions might seem quite stupid, but I don't have a
clue concerning MIDI files, so please forgive me..
Is it possible to burn a MIDI file which is in the GM or XG/XF format
on cd (instead of using a keyboard). And/or is there a way (..free
software) to convert those formats into a format which can be read
by the burning software/by the CD player (in the perfect case into
WMA).
I hope I did express myself understandable. icon_rolleyes.gif
Cheers

You can store Midi data files on CD... but Miid itself is NOT audio, it's data. Midi is nothing more than a series of instructions that is sent/recevied by midi-enabled devices.

Sometimes those instructions are what notes to play, for how long, by which patch.... other times, they're control instructions to control device parameters.

You use s/w to trigger sounds when you have midi note data. It's the sounds you trigger that are audio, not the midi data itself....
