sub suggestions

First off,

Hi everyone, my first post of many.. ..
I want to thank you for such a great outlet of asking questions and getting good answers. Looks like a very informative forum.

Second -

I am currently looking into purchasing a sub. I have Mackie 624's which I like but I have been getting more and more rap clients and I need to get the low end balanced in my room. I've been mixing a lot of Rock and I know how my room and monitors treat that sound so I have become accostumed to mixing in that condition.
My room is treated with home made (but very good) panels.
the room is 2/3 covered with 9` 2*4 frames with 1 1/2 inch thick rigid fiberglass.

my price range is around 500 - 800, but I am not closed to purchasing something for a few bucks more if it is worth it.....thanks in advance

well, i would reccomend a good powered sub to match that of the Mackies:
Tannoy
JBL
Cerwin Vega

These will fit your price range

If you want to go to the next level and get the phattest bass (w/o blowing out your windows,) get 2 powered subs; one for each channel.

This will keep those blunt smoking freaks happy with you room. icon_eek.gif
